Rev. Gordon

Rev. Gordon was appointed Principal of NETS in January 2025 after serving as Acting Principal and continues to serve as Academic Dean. A NETS graduate (B.Th. 2002; B.Th. Hons 2017), she completed a Master of Arts in Theological Education (MATE) through the London School of Theology in 2022, focusing on Spiritual Formation in theological education.
An ordained minister of the Rhenish Church in Namibia since 2004, she joined the NETS faculty in 2019 and became the institution’s first female Academic Dean in 2021. She is currently pursuing doctoral studies at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Before joining NETS in 2006, Mr. Gunning spent ten years teaching at the Evangelical Bible Institute in Rundu, Namibia. Since then, he has been a lecturer at NETS. Paul is married to Hilary, and they have four children. They are mission partners supported by SIM-UK. He is an asset to NETS, and the students appreciate his wisdom in pastoral matters.

Rev Joram has a passion for learning from and serving the church in Africa. He lived in Zimbabwe as a teenager, has researched Pentecostalism in Ghana, and served in Mozambique from 2010-2016 — both at Hefsiba Theological Seminary, and as a TEE trainer in the local churches. Both before and after his time in Mozambique he served in various local churches of the Protestant Church in the Netherlands. Joram and his wife Danielle are blessed with four young daughters. They are mission partners supported by GZB-Netherlands.

Youth Ministry & Biblical Studies
Prior to joining NETS in 2014 Rev. Knight served in various roles of youth and children’s ministry for over 15 years. He serves as a part-time lecturer at our Windhoek campus, and also has specific responsibilities for making youth ministry training accessible to local churches throughout Namibia. He is a mission partner supported by SIM-USA.

Rev Dan served as a pastor in Sydney for 7 years before moving with his family to Namibia in 2018. His desire is to help people see the glory of God in the face of Christ through his Word. Dan is married to Olivia and together they have been entrusted with four energetic boys. They are mission partners supported by CMS-Australia.

Eric’s passion is to see people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ as they engage God’s word and apply it to their lives. His wife, Julianne, is a stay-at-home mother, but she can often be found at the seminary mentoring the women students and helping them to grow in their faith. Eric is a missionary with Training Leaders International. Before serving in Namibia, Eric and Julianne served in Chad with Africa Inland Mission as discipleship catalysts and in Kenya as independent missionaries doing church planting and discipleship. In addition to English, Eric also speaks French and Swahili, plus a smattering of tribal languages. They have four daughters (one of whom is now with the Lord) and two sons. They enjoy trying new foods from around the world and hosting braais at their house with their friends.

Pete has worked as a lecturer at NETS since 2015. He is an ordained minister and a missionary with Antioch Ministries International for the last 30 years. He also serves as the Namibia Team Leader and Team Trainer for the Sub-Saharan Area Leadership Team. He served as a University Pastor for 5 years in Texas, worked as a missionary church planter for 11 years in Germany and directed the Night Antioch Discipleship Training School for 4 years before arriving in Namibia. He has a passion to build God’s kingdom by training and equipping local pastors and lay leader in evangelism, discipleship, Christ-like leadership, and church planting. He is married to Jennifer and has four grown children. He enjoys time with his family, bow hunting, outdoor activities and working out.

In almost forty years of ministry, Robert has served in a wide variety of pastoral ministries. Before coming to NETS, he served short-term at the Evangelical College in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, in 2016, 2017, and 2022, and the Leonard Kamungu Theological College in Zombo, Malawi, in 2019. He taught long term at Leonard Kamungu from 2024 to 2025. Robert is married to Traci (40+ years). They have six children and a son-in-law. Three of their children reside in Texas. Robert’s academic interests are Old Testament Theology and Background, as well as hermeneutics. He enjoys model railroading and physical exercise. Robert and Traci are sent out by the Reformed Episcopal Church and the Society of Angelican Missionaries and Senders.

Right Rev. Katenda is an ordained Anglican minister, and bishop of the Reformed Evangelical Anglican Church of Namibia (REACH-Namibia). He served at NETS from 2016-2018 in the roles of Academic Dean and Principal. He previously worked as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Anglican Diocese of Namibia. Lukas is married to Aune Kashikuka, a mathematics teacher by profession. They have a son named Leuyanoshinge Latumbala Livingstone.

Rev. Dr. Fourie is currently serving full-time in the office of the Synod of the Dutch Reformed Church. He is also the director of the Bachelor of Theology Honors program that is currently offered for a third time at NETS from 2023 to 2025. Part of his academic responsibilities is to lecture in both the undergraduate and postgraduate programs. He is married to Bianca, and they have three children: Mika, Zani, and Kai.

Director of NETS Board & Lecturer (Part Time)
Dr. Strauss has served NETS as Part-Time Principal and Lecturer since 2018. He is also the pastor of Academia Church. He is married with two adult children.
Rev. Dr. De Wet Strauss decided not to continue as the principal of NETS and handed the reins to Rev. M. Gordon, who has taken on his responsibilities as Principal since January 2024 (acting) and full-time January 2025. We are grateful that he still serves as a director on the NETS board and teaches Preaching and Systematic Theology courses to the undergraduate students and Historical Theology to the post-graduate students.
Mr. T. Endjala is also a graduate of NETS. He too joined the faculty in 2020 as a Faculty in Training (FIT) until 2022. He graduated in 2023 in the Bachelor of Theology Honors at NETS. He is doing his pastoral internship at the East Side Baptist Church and serve as adjunct faculty at NETS.
He is married to Tjinouhona and has two kids, a daughter and a boy. Mr. Endjala enjoys teaching practical courses and to apply them into his ministry.

Rev Johnny Nel - Emeritus VGKSA | Kingdom Life Coach & Theological Educator
After 17 years in full-time ministry, Rev. Johnny Nel took a 17-week sabbatical in 2019 before stepping into a new season of life. In 2021, amid the COVID-19 pandemic, he returned to congregational ministry as Assistant Minister, helping his first congregation find direction as they sought a full-time minister - work that also deepened his ecumenical ties with NETS, one of Namibia's theological institutes.
That partnership has grown: from facilitating a Learning Community in their Distance Program in Mariental, to Adjunct Faculty Lecturer in 2025, and now In-Service Trainee Distance Coordinator since February 2026.
My destination is clear: to contribute meaningfully to our nation by coaching people toward transformation and equipping leaders for the Kingdom of God.
My motto: To positively influence everyone I come into contact with in this part of my Life Cycle.
Focus: Peace, Joy, Love, and Gratitude.
Sarah Morkel, affectionately known as Rinty, took up the position of Assistant to the Distance Coordinator in January 2026. She successfully completed her Bachelor of Theology (BTH) in June 2026.
Rinty firmly believes that loving your neighbour and staying humble makes life easier. She is passionate about serving others and living a life guided by kindness and humility. Her personal motto is: “Always sing when stressed; it will calm your soul.”

Director: Management
Theodore started his career as an Engineer at Telecom Namibia in 1985 after graduating at the University of Stellenbosch (B.Sc Engineering in Electronics). He also holds a Hons. BA and an MBA from the University of Stellenbosch. He is registered with the Namibian Engineering Council (NEC) and also holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Open School, Operation and Management (PDOSOM). Theo has served in various capacities, both technically and commercially in the ICT sector till his retirement as the Managing Director of Telecom Namibia in 2019. He started with NETS in 2020. He also serves as Chairman of the Church Council at the Dutch Reformed Church Windhoek. Theo is married to Chaardi Birgitta Klein, a Pharmacist and Accountant of profession with three children. He is currently studying towards his bachelor’s degree in theology at NETS.
Born and raised in Windhoek, Namibia, Irene Shaningua serves as the Academic and Finance Administrator at Namibia Evangelical Theological Seminary (NETS) and as a part-time Academic English teacher. Passionate about language, education, and people, she finds great fulfilment in supporting students and contributing to their academic and personal growth. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, singing, board games, and moments of quiet reflection. She considers it a privilege to serve at NETS and to play a part in equipping men and women for God's kingdom.
Before joining NETS in 2017 Meme Lorna worked both as a counsellor and a librarian at Philippi Trust Namibia. She earned her Diploma in Library and Information science at UNAM. Lorna is married to Hermanson, and they have four children. Her passion is to help people access information, and to provide emotional support wherever there is a need.
Josephina was born and raised in Onegandjo Village in Oshikoto region. She gave her life to Jesus in 2006, and worships at Hakahana Christian Ministries. Her passion is to serve God so that His kingdom expands, and her favourite verse is Matthew 6:33 – ‘But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.’ In her spare time Josephina enjoys sewing and reading. She joined the NETS family in 2017.
Meme Alina was born and grew up in Okatope Village in the Ohangwena region. She joined NETS in 2015 as our housekeeper. She is mother to two boys, and fellowships at St Michael’s Anglican Church in Windhoek. Her favourite scripture that keeps her going is Psalm 23.
Mathias began working for NETS as a groundsman in 2001. In August 2013 he was promoted to the role of maintenance worker. Mathias was born in the village of Eheke in Oshana. He attended Olukolo Primary School and Onaukali Secondary School. He is a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Katutura and a (very) big supporter of Manchester United Football Club. Mathias says about himself: ‘I am enjoying a good life through my work at NETS. The people at NETS are peaceful and I know that I am only at NETS because of God’s mercy.’
