The NETS Discipleship Certificate (unaccredited) and the Certificate in Christian Ministry (NQF Level 3) are Distance Education programs, designed to be studied where you are in a learning community with a facilitator. This means that a student can not study on his own but in a learning community.
The Learning Community
When someone applies to study in this program, we try to find others from the same town to establish a learning community. The learning community is to support one another, to learn from the experiences and context of others. Also, to assist students to grow spiritually.
The role of the facilitator
The role of the facilitator is to guide and support the students so that they finish within the allocated timeframe. Therefore, the facilitator arranges how often the students meet, the lesson they are to study and when to write test, etc. This person is also responsible to motivate the students and answer their questions. The facilitator acts as liaison person between NETS and the learning Community.
Graduates from the Certificate in Christian Ministry program are equipped with the skills to:
- live a godly life.
- better understand Holy Scripture.
- serve faithfully in their local church and community.
Please note: It does not however ordinarily qualify someone to serve as a church pastor.
Graduates who successfully complete the certificate in English and with a Grade Point Average of at least 75% are eligible to be enrolled in the NQF Level 4 Certificate in Theology program in Windhoek.
Requirements:
- The only requirement for enrolment in the Certificate of Christian Ministry is to be able to read and write in the language that you choose to study in.
- The course is currently available in English, Afrikaans, Otjiherero, Rukwangali, Oshikwanyama and Oshindonga.
